We made it to another Friday, friends!💃🏻Thought I’d share some “fun facts” for the new faces around here.

When I first began studying graphic design, MAC computers weren’t in the classroom yet so I had to learn how to physically set type. I’m talking cutting and pasting 12pt type in a straight line onto a board!🤪 (yes, I’m old AF and 100% ok with that!)

I’m originally from California. I love the beach but I have a phobic fear of large waves so you’ll just see me standing in ankle high water.🌊

I love music, all kinds, but I can listen to Linda Ronstadt albums 24/7🖤

One of my first job interviews out of college was with Larry Flynt publications. I took the interview because I had NO idea who Larry Flynt was. (hint - he owned Hustler magazine) Didn’t get the job, likely because of the sheer look of horror on my face during the whole interview.🤢

When I chat with other designers, one of the questions that come up is, where do you draw inspiration from?

There are MANY things that inspire me, but architecture and interior style are at the top of my list along with travel.

This photo represents both. This is the Belvedere museum in Vienna. Stunning architectural details everywhere you look. Needless to say, I can’t wait to get back to traveling again!🖤✈️

One of the things I’m most looking forward to on

One of the things I’m most looking forward to once we’re beyond this pandemic, is to have a leisurely dinner inside a favorite restaurant. I love the moody, old school, swanky places that give off a historic vibe. You know, there’s a piano player in the bar and martini’s are being served while you wait for your table.

I was having some fun concepting for just such a restaurant. What do you think - does it give off the vibe I just described? I would say yes.

This is why working with a designer is key. If you’re a restaurant owner, odds are you have a culinary background, but not likely a branding background. You may have a vision of how you want your business to be perceived and it’s the designer’s job to bring that vision to life. When your branding is professional and consistent, you gain credibility and trust and it frees you to focus on what you do best.
